  • Diabetes is the leading cause of kidney failure, blindness in adults and  amputations.
  • Diabetes is a major risk factor for heart disease, stroke and birth defects.
  • People with diabetes, on average, have a life span shortened by 15 years

At Grace, we identify diabetics through the use of diagnostic lab testing on our patients who show pre-diabetic symptoms or risk factors.

Diabetic patients are able to receive regular monitoring at follow-up appointments with lab testing of blood sugar, cholesterol, and blood pressure.

Regular eye examinations are also important in the care of diabetes and patients are able to access eye care through our eye health services provider.

Education about diabetes is also an important part of self-care.  Grace is able to provide educational information to the patient.

Grace keeps the costs of these services within the patient's reach, helping them to improve overall health.

Grace Community Healthcare Ministries
While there is no cure for diabetes at this time, treating diabetes results in great benefits in both economic and human costs for the patient.
